Multipotentialite (Job Story #2)

Something about "one true calling" always pops into my head, leaving questions:

"Why didn't I have one? Why do I have so many interests? How do I know the one? Who can help me to figure it out? Where can I find the answer? When will I know that? What should I do???"

It's piqued my curiosity and makes me gradually inquisitive.

I started to think that I'm not a specialist, maybe I'm a generalist.

Is it only 'one' true calling?

I could never figure out what do I want to be.
My passion towards anything always changes.

When someone asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" my answer goes from every different field occasionally—a singer, a policewoman then an architect, an athlete, a designer, musician, dancer, pharmacist, translator, voice actor, film director, preacher, teacher, writer..... and so on. It never stops changing.

I was thinking something went wrong with me for I couldn't decide the most thing I wanted to do in my life. I'm a rapid learner. I have many interests and good at a lot of different things. Just good, not expert.

I have been through all the hard times by seeking out my "true calling".
I took passion-test to help me identify but the result was always changing from time to time.

It stresses me out.
But, I don't have to feel less worthy for not having the "one true calling".
So, I keep going on.

These days, I saw Emilie Wapnick channel. She talked about multiple callings.
I guess this is the answer.

Multipotentialite

"A multipotentialite is a person who has many different interests and creative pursuits in life. Multipotentialites have no “one true calling” the way specialists do. (Emilie Wapnick)"

Yes, I'm not the type of person who commit to one single field.
I dabbled in range of activities, organizations, and even job functions.

That's who I am, a multipotentialite.

I did many things in life but doesn't mean I would literally do everything.
I still have to narrow down the field and set boundary in order to achieve something.

Why?

Because the difference was only:
They choose one path, multipotentialites choose several. Not all.

To be continued.....

Here's my reference:
WHY SOME OF US DON’T HAVE ONE TRUE CALLING (AND WHY WE’RE BETTER OFF THAT WAY)
